Itinerary

10 nights /11 days

Day 1 Malta to Tangier – Visit and stay  

Arrival in Tangier


Upon arrival in Tangier, you will be met by your driver/guide at the airport and transferred to a local restaurant in the city center for lunch. Afterward, enjoy a brief guided visit of the city.

In the evening, we will go to our hotel to relax in Tangier or Tetouan

Day 2 CHEFCHAOUEN – AKCHOUR WATERFALLS 

After breakfast at your hotel in Tangier , depart by private vehicle towards Akchour National Park, located in the scenic Talassemtane region of the Rif Mountains. Upon arrival, begin a pleasant walk through the gorges of Oued Farda, following a picturesque trail leading to the famous Akchour waterfalls. Surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic landscapes, you will have time to relax, take photographs, and, depending on the season, enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools. Lunch can be arranged at a local restaurant near Akchour or back in Chefchaouen, according to your preference.

In the afternoon, return to Chefchaouen, where you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the charming Chefchaouen Medina. During the visit, stroll through the iconic blue-painted streets and discover local artisan shops, textiles, and handicrafts. You will pass through the lively Outa el Hammam Square and admire the exterior of the historic Kasbah of Chefchaouen. The evening is at leisure, with the option to dine in a local restaurant.

Day 3 Depart Chefchaouen  to Fes 

After breakfast, we will depart from Chefchaouen towards Fes. Fes is the second-largest city in the country, with a population of approximately one million people. It is a former capital and one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. As the city has experienced relatively little colonial influence, much of Fes feels like stepping back in time. 

During our journey we will  travel toward the imperial city of Meknes, known for its rich history and relaxed atmosphere.

Upon arrival, begin exploring the highlights of Meknes, once the capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail. Visit the impressive Bab Mansour, one of the most magnificent gates in Morocco, renowned for its intricate zellij tilework and grand architecture.

Continue to Place El Hedim, the city’s lively main square, where you can soak in the local atmosphere. You will also visit the beautiful Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, an important historical and religious site open to visitors.

Explore the vast Heri es-Souani granaries and stables, which once supported the royal army and reflect the grandeur of the imperial city.

Afterward, continue your journey to the nearby ancient Roman site of Volubilis. Discover its remarkably well-preserved ruins, including mosaics, columns, and archways, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s Roman past.

Day 4 Fes to Midlet 

Start your day with breakfast before heading out on a guided walking tour of the historic medina of Fes. Wander through its maze of narrow cobbled streets, where every turn reveals centuries of history, bustling souks, and ancient mosques.

During your tour, you’ll visit some of the city’s most beautiful palaces and historic monuments, showcasing the rich architectural and cultural heritage of Fes. A highlight of the morning is a visit to the famous leather tanneries, where traditional methods of leather production have been preserved for generations.

After exploring Fes, you’ll depart and journey south toward Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine-style architecture and clean, cool atmosphere.

Continue through the cedar forests near Azrou, where you’ll have the chance to stop and see the local Barbary macaque monkeys. You may even be able to hand-feed them—an unforgettable experience in a beautiful natural setting.

The journey then continues to Midelt, a peaceful town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner and an overnight stay

Day 5 MIDELT – ARFOUD – RISSANI – MERZOUGA – LUXURY 

After breakfast, we depart from Midelt in the direction of Merzouga, with plenty of opportunities to stop and admire views of local kasbahs and palmeries – valleys lush with date palms, fields, and orchards. Along the way, you may encounter nomads traveling with their flocks – these free-spirited people live under the open sky and rarely settle in one place for long. We continue through barren mountainsides and fertile valleys, pausing in frontier towns such as Erfoud and Rissani before reaching the small Saharan settlement of Merzouga. Set against the backdrop of the striking orange Erg Chebbi sand dunes, this charming village feels wonderfully remote, as if the modern world has left it behind. Here, you will mount a camel to watch the sunset from a unique perspective among the rolling desert dunes before continuing to the luxury camp. After dinner, enjoy an evening around the bonfire with Berber drum music, and take an optional walk among the dunes to marvel at the countless stars in the desert sky. Day 6 Merzouga 

Your day begins with a picturesque sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at your desert camp.. During this experience, visit the “black village” of Khamlia, known for its Gnawa community and rich musical heritage, where you can enjoy an authentic cultural performance. You will also have the opportunity to interact with local nomadic families and gain insight into their traditions. 

Later in the day, check in to your hotel in Merzouga and enjoy time at leisure to relax by the pool or take a walk around the property. 

Morning/ Afternoon optional quad bikes.

In the evening, dinner will be served at the hotel. For those seeking additional adventure, an optional one-hour quad biking experience in the desert can also be arranged.

Day 7 Todra Gorge -Rose Valley- Ourazazate 

Departing after breakfast, the journey continues through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco towards Dades Gorges, where you will stop to admire and photograph the dramatic rock formations and breathtaking scenery. From here, travel through the beautiful Rose Valley, known for its seasonal rose harvests and fragrant products, before continuing in the direction of Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa” due to its role in numerous film productions.

The route passes via the lush Skoura Oasis, offering a striking contrast of palm groves against the surrounding desert landscapes. Along the way, stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the historic Taourirt Kasbah, one of the region’s most impressive fortified residences. The journey then continues to Ait Ben Haddou, where you will enjoy a lunch break followed by a guided walk through this remarkable ksar. This ancient fortified village, strategically located along the former caravan route between the Sahara and northern Morocco, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and has served as the backdrop for many famous films, including Gladiator and The Mummy.

Day 8  : Leaving Ouarzazate to Marrakesh 

Following breakfast, depart for Marrakesh. Upon arrival, we go to explore the historic heart of the city. Your visit begins at the impressive Koutoubia Mosque, an architectural masterpiece that dominates the skyline and serves as a key symbol of Marrakech.

Continue your discovery through the lively medina, leading to the renowned Jemaa el Fna, a UNESCO-recognized square bustling with street performers, traditional food vendors, and local entertainers. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere before wandering through the colorful souks, where a maze of alleyways reveals artisan workshops, spices, textiles, and handicrafts.

After the tour, transfer to your riad or hotel for check-in. Overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 9 Marrakesh  Essouira 

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the launch site for a memorable hot air balloon experience. As the sun rises, enjoy a peaceful flight over the stunning landscapes surrounding Marrakesh, taking in panoramic views of the desert plains, palm groves, and distant Atlas Mountains.

After landing, a traditional Moroccan breakfast will be served, allowing you to relax and reflect on this unforgettable experience.

Following breakfast, begin your scenic journey toward Essaouira. Along the way, you may pass scattered Berber villages and spot herds of camels, sheep, and goats grazing peacefully in the countryside.

As the journey continues, the landscape gradually transforms into regions dotted with argan trees—unique to this part of Morocco. You may even catch sight of goats climbing the trees, a fascinating local phenomenon.

Upon arrival in Essaouira, take in a panoramic view of this charming blue-and-white coastal town, known for its artistic vibe and relaxed atmosphere. You’ll then have free time to explore at your own pace—stroll along the historic ramparts, wander through the lively medina, visit local art galleries, or simply enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze.

Day 10 Marrakesh 

Today is dedicated to discovering the vibrant city of Marrakesh at your own pace.

Dive into the bustling souqs of the medina, where narrow alleyways are filled with colorful textiles, handcrafted goods, spices, and traditional Moroccan treasures. The lively atmosphere offers a true sensory experience and a glimpse into local daily life.

You may also choose to visit the beautiful Jardin Majorelle, a peaceful botanical garden known for its exotic plants and striking blue architecture.

For relaxation, consider indulging in a traditional Moroccan hammam experience, where you can unwind and rejuvenate with authentic cleansing rituals.

The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure—whether that means sipping mint tea in a local café, exploring hidden corners of the city, or simply soaking in the unique charm of Marrakesh.

Day 11 Marrakesh to Malta

After breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to this beautiful country. Enjoy your final moments in Marrakesh before departure.

At the scheduled time, your driver will transfer you to Marrakesh airport, ensuring a smooth and timely arrival for your flight check-in and onward connection.
